The Journey

I’ve been selected as a crew member for the 2017/2018 Clipper Round the World Race, hosted by Clipper Ventures PLC.  You can find all the information you need to know here, but I’ll summarize:

The event is a grueling 8-leg marathon race to circumnavigate the globe aboard one of a fleet of 70-foot clipper ships.  The course is over 40,000 nautical miles long, and takes approximately one year to complete.  Over the course of the race we’ll stop at more than a dozen countries on six continents, and will experience the full gauntlet of weather and seas along the way.

I am of course thrilled (and a little terrified) to begin my sailing adventure, but the truth is – my race has already begun. Most of my time over the next year will be devoted to raising the full amount of money required to fund my gear, training, race entrance fees, medial costs, and travel.  Let me just say that the total amount is a lot.

I’ll be scouting out corporate sponsorships, but I’m also asking for my family, friends, and supporters to contribute to a GoFundMe I’ve set up to help support my adventure.

Please consider donating!

Here’s the status of the effort as of April 1, 2016:
